Nectar is the most important link of co-evolution of the flora and fauna on the planet - the insects that feed on them spread the pollen, thus contributing to its saturation and distribution plants. They feed on the nectar of bees, bumblebees, wasps, butterflies, hummingbirds, bats. Honeybees carry it into the cell, producing honey. Moreover, some species have learned to give no nectar to attract insects, and in gratitude to them for protection! For example, some acacias provide shelter ants, highlighting the nectar for them, as they protect them from pests.

Its composition nectars are aqueous solutions of sucrose, glucose, fructose, maltose with a low content of acids, alcohols, mineral salts, enzymes and various complex aromatics.
