In the 60's enthusiasm for this sedative peaked, including among celebrities, and often leads to serious addiction and death. In 1966, the novelist Jacqueline Susann released novel "Valley of the Dolls", dedicated to the spread of dangerous antidepressants in Hollywood, and the following year saw the film adaptation of the book, which has become a classic of cinema. One of the main roles of Judy Garland was approved, but was later removed from the actress filming because of drunkenness. Ironically Garland died two years later due to an overdose of barbiturates.

Anna Nicole Smith

Anna Nicole Smith could become the epitome of the American dream, if not for her tragic and mysterious death, due to which the blonde came to be called the "second Monroe." Babe from Texas, not endowed with anything other than a pretty face and the nature of the breakdown, beginning with work in a striptease, and in 1992 her pictures appeared in Playboy. Two years later, 26-year-old beauty was married to 89-year-old oil tycoon Howard Marshall, who died a year after the wedding. Anna Nicole for 12 years trying to win himself a part of the inheritance.
