The plane soars above the runway the airport - an impressive sight, but it is unlikely that someone will be surprised. Hundreds of planes taking off at the same time - this is much more interesting. Photographer from Los Angeles, Mike Kelly has created a series of images Airportraits, and it took him two years. He photographed arriving and departing aircraft at 18 airports around the world. After that, he compiled the images to get amazing shots. They remind us of how much is actually loaded sky above the city.

"The inspiration for these images was a simple thing. After the first photo "The turbulence of the air tracks" (Wake Turbulence), made in the Los Angeles airport (LAX), I realized that I need to do more, given the huge success of the original picture. In a world of amazing bunch of airports, airlines and aircraft that I had to take pictures, so I devised a plan to capture as many as possible. Since then, I obsessed with airplanes, travel and new places. In addition, it was a great excuse to get me out of your comfort zone a bit, "- says the photographer.

Los Angeles Airport (LAX). This picture was taken from the beach Dockweiler directly under the path of departing flights between five and seven o'clock in the evening, just as the rays of the setting sun light up the lower part of the fuselage.

Dubai International Airport. In the background one can see the tallest building in the world - Burj Khalifa. The picture was taken between six and eight o'clock in the morning when it's rush hour for departures in all directions.

Los Angeles Airport, "The turbulence of the air track." This is the original picture, which became an experimental test fotoproeka concept. The picture was very successful and urged the photographer to expand the project to the global. The photo - departures from the southern runway airport in Los Angeles in one day, although some planes had to be removed: the viewer is unlikely to need to look at all 84 "Boeing 737".

Heathrow Airport in London. This picture was taken during the peak morning landing at London's Heathrow airport. Flights from Asia and North America are going to land in one of the busiest airports in the world.

Zurich Airport. Due to a complex system of noise control using Zurich airport runways are aimed in different directions, depending on the wind strength. Due to this a very interesting picture, which aviapotoki combined with the idyllic Swiss nature surrounding the airport.

London Heathrow. To make those shots, it took a trip to London three times. Weather there is harsh. It was very difficult to catch a day of clear sky, and although the day when this photo was taken, the sky was cloud, the photographer was lucky: the sky is not clouded over and the rain was not there. According to the author, this is one of his favorite shots in the series.

Frankfurt. This photograph was taken in July 2015, when storms raged in Europe. The photo shows that one of the aircraft goes into the second round.

For the photographer, this picture has become a big headache in terms of logistics: podgadat had perfect weather and the wind. Using a long telephoto lens, Mike was able to photograph the legendary Mount Fuji for the airport, despite the fact that it is more than a hundred kilometers from the shooting location.
