Walk on the cozy Suzdal
• Walk through the cozy Suzdal
All April was cold in Moscow, and only the last two days, finally warmed up. And I decided at the last day of April, to lay out a bit of winter. The small town of Suzdal, often referred to as the "cradle of the Golden Ring." When visiting this town, it does not leave the impression that time has stopped here ...
through a lot of Suzdal for its thousand-year history: suffered from internal strife and Russian princes, and against the raids of the Tatar-Mongol and Polish troops, had its ups and downs depending on the rulers flourished and remained in oblivion.
Now Suzdal is home to about 10,000 people, and all are generally employed in the tourism sector.
Today Suzdal became a museum city, where almost every building - is a piece of a bygone forever ancient Russian history.
This is not just a pretty phrase museum city, it is the status, because of Suzdal included in the UNESCO World Heritage List!
once the largest and richest in the XII century was the capital of a powerful principality Rostov-Suzdal, Suzdal gradually turned into a remote province, of which all have forgotten.
That is why it bypassed the big transformation, demolition and renovation, it has remained at the turn of XVII-XVIII centuries - in this period the majority of white-stone architectural ensembles.
In Soviet times, it was demolished 15 churches, but in 1967 the authorities came around and declared the whole city museum.
Despite the fact that the town is very small, to get around all the attractions in one day is very difficult because there are five monasteries and more than fifty churches. Once upon a time, 400 houses had almost 50 churches. That is, for every 8 homes accounted for one church!
For 1500 rubles you can ride in a troika of horses with a guided tour of the main attractions of the city
Such ZIL fire is now rarely seen
The snow is really so much that it is not always clean ...
A part of the city is the Suzdal Kremlin - the most ancient part of Suzdal. Here preserved trenches and ramparts of the ancient fortress, there were some churches were preserved bishop's courtyard with the Nativity Cathedral.
In general, if you want to plunge into the charm of ancient Rus - I recommend to visit Suzdal!
